KASTLE SKIS TRADE SHOW BOOTH

“What a dream. To work with a founding company of the ski industry was not only an exceptional experience, but even more a learning one through  working with a highly refined and designed European company with deep routes and premier product in my primary winter sport. The many influential designers prospering in this region of the globe has carried a strong influence in my career.”

Kastle Skis has a long running history producing performance skis and accessories for the boutique ski market. A relaunch of the brand after a change of ownership in 2006 found the need to develop a new promotional booth for the Ski Industry of America/ SIA tradeshow in Denver, Colorado in 2010. We worked with the owner to develop a unique 30′ x 50′ space that presented the clean Austrian design aesthetic through minimal displays in stretched fabric and common construction materials. The design included translucent displays with color kinetics, a tower made from reclaimed pallet shelving, and furniture covered with ski climbing skins. An open floor plan provided a gallery effect, creating a strong presence for the skis, accessories, and apparel, with the iconic oval detail on the tip of the ski inspiring amorphic shapes and soft flow throughout the booth. A museum wall on the exterior rounded out the presentation of the brand’s prominence in the history of the ski industry.
