UHLAND RESIDENCE

This was a unique opportunity to design a modern bachelor pad in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. With a newly remodeled shell in a 1500 sq ft second story location, the client was looking to streamline the furniture sourcing process to local stores in which he could see everything in person in a matter of a few days.

I suggested DWR (Design Within Reach) as it provided both contemporary and midcentury design options at reasonable price points, and offered all aspects or the interior, from furniture to kitchen and bath accessories. My trade discount saved him significant cost overall.

We explored deeper with a Roche Bobois electric reclining sectional, and a grand living wall to bring an organic presence into the space. The highlight was the floating stairway to the rooftop deck, including a retractable skylight that opened to rooftop views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
