Culinary Creative, Tap & Burger Concepts
Modern Middle Eastern food has made a big hit on the foodie scene. The primary client, Juan Padro of Tap and Burger Concepts, had a vision for an upbeat, fun environment inspired by the culture of Tel Aviv. We gathered aspects of Bauhaus design, ethnic patterns and lighting, complimented with modern fixtures from Tom Dixon. The client wanted to create separation with the wide open space, which we achieved with rough cedar pergolas inspired by the gathering aspects of a traditional Chuppah. Classic materials of the region include a travertine bar top and backdrop wall, and arabesque mosaic tile adorning the wood fire oven which produces fresh pita bread and roasted vegetables. Kilim rugs and succulents soften the space, creating an inviting environment to present the food by Chef Daniel Asher. Additional partners include Ben Higgins from the Bachelor and the Dining Out Magazine team.
