DUO

“When I picked a placeholder image of a dandelion for the primary, I didn’t realize that it was an ingredient in the chef’s recipes. The interaction with the owners and staff throughout the remodel was fantastic.”

-David Schaich

After seven years of successful operation, the owners of Duo, a small farm-to-table bistro, were looking for a facelift. To maintain the minimalist, lived-in aesthetic, the original brick walls, worn wood, and iconic reclaimed windows remained, accentuated by neutralizing the walls in a warm off-white. Large reclaimed mixing bowls were turned into a series of over-sized pendant lights over the main dining area. Powder coated grass-green shelves were added to the kitchen pass, behind, and over the bar to increase storage, organization, and efficiency. A classic dandelion illustration fills the previously underutilized wall in the bar.
