VAIL CHOPHOUSE
When new partners acquired Vail Chophouse after eight years of operation, the restaurant’s prime location at the base of the Lionshead Gondola was ready for a complete transformation. Shike Design, a leading Denver restaurant designer, stripped the interior and rebuilt the space in just five weeks, delivering a full interior remodel.
The new look drew inspiration from the 10th Mountain Division, a WWII unit that trained in the local mountains and later helped establish Vail Resort. Uniform colors and equipment textures influenced the furniture details and finishes, creating a meaningful connection to the region’s history.
Key updates included a redesigned bar back, surface, and face, a grand liquor cabinet, booth seating, and a factory-style sliding door to the private dining room. Large mountain murals and unique wall treatments completed the space, while the layout was reimagined to better accommodate a diverse clientele. Flexible zones now allow for lively music venue settings as well as intimate private dining experiences.
