VAIL CHOPHOUSE

“This was a fast turnaround project with a limited budget. With only five weeks to remove flooring, expand the private dining area, update all finishes, and bring in new furniture and lighting, we moved quickly to meet the deadline, with an additional week of work added by the client through the process. It was a wild ride that proved to be an adventure in managing expectations and deliverables.”

New partners acquired the Vail Chophouse after 8 years of operation. With a prime location at the base of the Loinshead Gondola, it was long overdue for a facelift. We stripped the interior and rebuilt the space in five weeks- entire interior remodel! The new look was inspired by the 10th Mountian Division, a WW2 unit that trained in the local mountains, and later founded the Vail ski resort. The colors and materials of the uniforms and equipment carried through in the furniture details and finish colors. A new bar back, bar surface and face, grand liquor cabinet, booth seating, and a factory style sliding door to the private dining room highlight the space. The goal was to break up the space into areas that accommodated the diversity of the clientele, create a music venue setting, and provide an area that could be closed off for private events. Large mountain murals and unique wall treatments enhanced the final details.
